The Three Things Saving My Skin Right Now

I recently added two new products and one new tool to my daily skincare routine and I could not recommend all three of them more! While my skin still isn’t perfect (honestly it probably never will be) but I have noticed SUCH a big difference in my skin over the last few weeks. For the first time since before my wedding I am comfortable with how my skin looks after I wash my face.

Speaking of which – I should probably give you a little backstory. I was spending ALL the money getting my skin perfect for my wedding and was also on a pretty restrictive diet which of course helps too. While there were some stress pimples close to the day, on the day of my skin was perfect. But since my wedding, I haven’t been as strict on my diet and I found what used to work on my skin was no longer worked. I was getting breakout after breakout after breakout. So I did what we all do: google products and read reviews. After a few trial and errors, I finally found something that works. I’ll go through the three in the order that I use them. First up – let me talk about the new tool I’ve been using.

One of the ways I find out about new skincare items is by looking at other bloggers who have gorgeous skin and figuring out what they are using. I found out about this tool through Corrine of Mint Arrow. (The Pro I have is actually her exclusive one she designed with PMD. It was a limited edition that has sold out but all of their Clean Pro’s work the same – just different colors.) Her skin is flawless, so if she recommends something, I listen! I’ve used other facial cleansing devices but this is my new favorite. I like that it has multiple settings for the massage and that it is surgical grade silicone. It’s much easier to get it super clean after using than other tools I’ve used as well.

However my favorite part about this tool isn’t the cleansing side of it, it’s actually the other side. Yep , turn this baby around and there is flat plate that warms up. So every single day you can apply your serums or face oils with a heated massage. It’s AMAZING. Sometimes I turn off the massager and just run the warm plate over my face because it feels so good. The heat also helps your products absorb better so you’re actually getting more out of your other products too! I massage in face oil (covered later in this post) and it’s made such a difference. Plus it feels like you get your own little hot stone facial every night.

Two things to note about PMD – I didn’t get a shipping notification but it did show up in less than a week from when I ordered so I don’t care but just thought I would mention it to you all. Also there weren’t a lot of instructions included in the box. There are videos on their website however that were really helpful. There weren’t any instructions about charging but one thing I did find out from a wonderful follower – it should light up when it’s charging! However none of this changes how I feel about the Clean Pro – I’m still obsessed!

I’ll be honest, I’ve never really been much of a toner person. I never really saw a difference when I used it and I never really looked into why you should use it. Well now I feel differently on both counts! What I’ve learned is “a face toner helps to remove excess dirt, traces of oil and makeup, correct and balance the pH of your skin, and helps control acne. In other words, a facial toner thoroughly cleans the skin and helps remove built up surface dead skin cells. By helping to clean and close pores, it’s specially beneficial for acne-prone skin.” As someone who struggles with breakouts I knew I need to get the right toner in my regimen.

This toner specifically has made a difference. My skin feels so clean and smooth when I use it. It transforms formula as you rub it into your skin and it clarifies your skin as you use it. I notice a visible difference to my skin’s brightness after using. Some of the reviews do mention a bad smell to it but I have never noticed that. But just something to keep in mind – maybe try a sample of this one first!

Face oil has been a game changer for me. I always steered clear of them because I always assumed it would just make my breakouts worse – but not this one. UFO is formulated for acne-prone skin and actually helps clear breakouts. It’s a dry oil so my skin doesn’t feel overly oily when I’m done and I’ve definitely noticed a reduction in my breakouts. I use such a small amount on my face that this bottle is going to last me a longgg time.

One thing you should be aware of with this is skin purging. UFO contains salicylic acid which can “make you shed dead skin cells faster, helping to loosen trapped sebum and debris. This accelerates the rate at which pre-existing clogged pores (also known as microcomedones) rise to the surface and become blemishes.” So you could see your skin get a bit worse before it gets better. (Lots of great articles out there with more on this topic!) For this reason, I started off just using the face oil every other day and only at night to help my skin ease into it. So far I haven’t seen much of a reaction and I’m so happy with how my skin looks after using all three items for the last few weeks.
